WIVB News 4 - Buffalo App Reviews

I try to read a news story and the app keeps switching over to the App Store. Im not even touching the screen - it happens AS Im reading a story. Happens EVERY story & every time I use the app.

Ive had this app on my tablet for a while. We went through troubles with iOS changes, and generally those problems got worked out, but with the most recent app update, Ive noticed that more than a couple times while using this, suddenly the App Store opens to some random app. I didnt press a button, I didnt click anything. In fact when I close the App Store and go back to the wivb app, there doesnt appear to be anything that I clicked on to have made that happen in the first place. (First it was disney, then the sims?) That being said, the ad that comes up in the beginning is much less invasive than it used to be. And I do like this app. It keeps me up to date for Buffalo news, and its easier to use than ever. I like the weather alerts in the top right. Fix the random App Store problem and Id say youve just about got it.

When the app loads it automatically jumps you to the App Store with an obnoxious solicitation to load a new app. I dont find a "X" feature to close out so I must double click to navigate. Ads are prominent and take up too much space. This was my go-to app for news and weather but not until they get this fixed. I feel like a news consumer that was sold out for commercial marketing. My only option is to go elsewhere and I will.

It is now totally horrible. The old App was perfect. Constantly goes to App store as the adds dont load as fast as App so you think you are scrolling and bam off to the App store you go. Leave well enough alone so now going to delete as this thing.

Wow! The fix rendered this app totally useless. Now i dont even have to bother trying to use it.

New update is just awful! It keeps jumping to the app store and trying to sell me apps I dont want. The ad for Mattar is incredibly intrusive. How many times do we need to see this? The amount of ads on the app is ridiculous. Also, the color scheme, black print with gray lines, is so monochrome its a little hard to tell one headline from another .Time to switch to a different app for local news.

The traffic cams are stuck on 12/31/2015. Cant find a way to refresh them?

Ive been using this app for over a year. The layout used to be bad, but it started getting better with updates. There were pop up ads before, but you never actually left the app. Now with this latest update, the app is much easier to navigate through. The bad thing is the new redirect. It kicks you out of the app and into the app store. I got redirected 3 times in a row just by trying to open the app. Its very annoying having to keep going back to the app 2 or 3 times just to read a news story. I can just open safari and go on the website with no issues. Why would they destroy an app which is meant to make the news more convenient. This app is now useless, and I refuse to keep using it!!! Great job!!!

Channel 4 News is the best to obtain any of our local news, their app? Horrible!! Has always been, when will you be able to afford someone with expertize in the app field so we may be able to have the same experience of professionalism with your app that we do with your news! Cant even share the stories!!

Something changed. Hard to navigate this app. Cant find what Im looking for. Also, it automatically jumps me to the App Store constantly based on ads - I dont even have to touch anything. Waste of time - I will go with WGRZ from now on.

This website forces you to visit the APP store every single story you look at every time! Dont bother, pick another local news source.

Ever since latest update it doesnt have the topic when you try to share. Just says news and weather. I want the subject of the topic so ppl know what Im sharing. I used to love the app but I have to now go to wkbw and wgrz news to get my news and share it with my friends.

I just want the news. Channel 7 app is FAR superior. The constant ads on WIVB are time wasting irritators. Enough. Also the news is not updated quickly. Stale. I like the actual newscast. And the personalities. Just not this app. Kill the Ads.

1 ad was a enough.2 are annoying as hell. This app is the worst ever. With the popup ads and when trying to read something. Deleting the app once and for all.

First off Ive Ben using this app for over an year, yea from the time you didnt want update and fixs the bugs... We need to have an in app purchase add remover at Lest, let alone idk why you guys cram all the preloaded add pics to waste my phone memorie... Its sad that we half to XP so much adds now threw the hole app sore to speak. Pleas consider. Thank you.

The app is poorly designed and transitions are slow. Additionally when you click on a news article it will take you to a complete different article, after this happened to me over 10 times and i still wasnt able to view the article I gave up on this app. Furthermore the video feature for articles on this app doesnt work either, it just makes you sit through an ad and then just buffers but never loads nor plays the video clip for the article. All-around horrible app, can only compare it to using a painfully slow computer. Do not waste your time with this app

It will not open. Page just stays blank. Even after reinstalling the app.

This is a terrible app. I am so tired of the endless commercials. It is slow and fails to have the option to cancel and leave the page. The app must be closed out and restarted.

I have always watched WIVB as my preferred news station but it seems that with each update in the app comes MORE ads. And just when you think youve exited out of all of them, another one pops up and takes you away from the app. Id like to read the local news without all the hassle and ads!!!

Too many ads in the app. Pop ups make navigation difficult. Great for breaking news headlines in notification but to difficult to actually read the story. Other local news apps a have less ads.
